MEETINGS

As of November 2021, our new meeting location is in the “Café Room” of the the Lambrick Park Church at 1780 Feltham Road (between Shelbourne Street and Gordon Head Road).

Please be aware at this time only double vaccinated people can attend these indoor in-person events, must wear masks when not eating or drinking, and that we must socially distance with our seating.

We meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month.  Meetings are held  from March to November  unless otherwise noted below or on our News and Events page.   Due to Covid-19 restrictions, our meeting are currently being held Zoom instead of in person meetings.

Our in person meetings include a social segment with refreshments from 7:00 to 7:30, a speaker (45 minutes to one hour), and a half hour business segment following the speaker.  Usually 5 of our meetings have a guest speaker, a door prize and a raffle.

The July meeting is normally our Show Awards pot luck picnic supper (the location and start time varies).

The August meeting is very often a field trip or garden visit (date and location vary).

The October meeting is replaced with our annual Rare Bulb and Plant Auction and Wine and Cheese.  The date and time varies each year.   Please refer to the News and Events page for details closer to this time.

The November meeting is our annual potluck dinner and Annual General Meeting (AGM).  The potluck starts at 7:00 and is followed by the AGM.  There is no guest speaker.

The Victoria Lily Society (VLS) holds an annual “Summer Scentsations” Lily and Flower Show, Plant Sale and Tea in late June or early July.

It is a judged show featuring lilies, flowers, foliage, and so much more.  The show is open to entries from outside the club.  Our tea is an English-style tea with home-baked scones and goodies.   See the News and Events page for details.

We also maintain a Lily Garden at the Horticultural Centre of The Pacific (HCP), managed with a roster of participating VLS volunteers.

Our year also includes scheduled field trips and visits to private and public gardens.

We maintain an inventory of potted lilies for our Plant Sale at the annual Summer Scentsations Show, Sale and Tea.

We conduct an annual Rare Bulb and Plant Auction in the fall.  Hard to find and special items are donated from member’s gardens and from some of our suppliers.

Members are offered wholesale prices on lily bulbs when we do our annual bulb order.

A News Bulletin is emailed or otherwise sent out to all members nine times a year.
