The Victoria Lily Society (VLS) was founded in 1989 and became a registered non-profit society in 2008 when we hosted the North American Lily Society’s annual conference.  We are a regional member of the North American Lily Society (NALS).

We welcome new members!

For new or returning members, click on the 2026 VLS Membership Form.  Annual membership dues are $20 per person or household.  If you are paying by cheque please make it payable to the Victoria Lily Society. You can print and fill in the form then mail it to the address on the bottom of the form along with your cheque or pay in person (by cheque or cash) at one of our meetings.

 

MEETINGS AND EVENTS

 

Most of our meetings and October Auction take place in the “Café Room” of the the Lambrick Park Church at 1780 Feltham Road, Victoria BC (between Shelbourne Street and Gordon Head Road).  View on Google Maps.  Our July Summer Show, Sale and Tea is also held at this location in the auditorium.

  • Our onsite “regular” meetings are held at the Lambrick Park Church in March, April, May, September along with the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in November.  The AGM is also the final meeting of the year.  These meetings are on the fourth Tuesday of the month unless communicated otherwise.
  • The regular meetings include a social segment with complimentary refreshments from 7:00 to 7:30, a speaker (45 minutes to one hour), and a half hour business segment following the speaker.  Usually 4 of our meetings have a guest speaker on a wide range of topics (not just lilies!).

We also meet off-site in June for our pre-show meeting and July for our post-show meeting.   The location, date and time for these meetings can vary and details are emailed to members and posted to the News and Events page closer to each meeting. 

Our annual Summer Show Plant Sale and Tea is in July (usually the first or second Saturday).   The 2026 date is Saturday July 11 at the Lambrick Park Church auditorium.

We do not meet in August but sometimes arrange a field trip or garden visit.  The date, time, and location will vary.  

In October we hold our Rare Bulb and Plant Auction in lieu of a regular meeting.  It is our annual fundraiser and features some hard to find or special items (not just lilies) donated from member’s gardens and some of our contacts and suppliers.  Complimentary beverages and appetizers are also provided.  It is usually held the fourth Tuesday in October.  Please refer to the News and Events page for details closer to the event.

November is our Annual General Meeting (AGM).  It is on the fourth Tuesday and also marks our last meeting of the year.   Please refer to the News and Events page for details closer to the date. 

We do not meet from December to February.

There is no masking requirement at this time but this is subject to change and may occur on short notice.

 

 

 

We maintain the Lily Garden at the Horticultural Centre of The Pacific (HCP) in Saanich, BC It is managed by a roster of VLS volunteers.

Our year also includes scheduled field trips and visits to private and public gardens.

We maintain an inventory of potted lilies for our Plant Sale at the annual Summer Scentsations Show, Sale and Tea.

Members are offered wholesale prices on select lily bulbs when we do our annual bulb order.

A Newsletter is emailed to all members ten times a year.
