Other Activities
The Victoria Lily Society (VLS) became a registered non-profit society in 2008 when we hosted the North American Lily Society’s annual conference. We are a regional member of the North American Lily Society (NALS).
We welcome new members!
For new or returning members, click on the VLS Membership Form. Annual membership dues are $20 per person or household. If you are paying by cheque please make it payable to the Victoria Lily Society. You can print and fill in the form then mail it to the address on the bottom of the form along with your cheque or pay in person (by cheque or cash) at one of our meetings.
MEETINGS
Our regular and AGM meetings and annual auction (March – May, September – November) are held on the 4th Tuesday of the month in the “Café Room” of the the Lambrick Park Church at 1780 Feltham Road, Victoria BC (between Shelbourne Street and Gordon Head Road). View on Google Maps For those members unable to attend in person, the option to participate virtually via Zoom is available for most meetings.
Our regular in person meetings include a social segment with refreshments from 7:00 to 7:30, a speaker (45 minutes to one hour), and a half hour business segment following the speaker. Usually 5 of our meetings have a guest speaker.
Please be aware there is no masking requirement at this time but this is subject to change and it may occur on short notice.
We also meet off-site (not at Lambrick Park Church) in June and July and the location, date and time can vary.
The June, we meet to discuss final details and preparation for our July show. In 2025 this will be for the NALS 2025 Show and Symposium and in other years it is the VLS Summer Show Sale and Tea). Please refer to the News and Events page for details closer to that date.
In July we have an off-site meeting. The location and the start time varies.
The is no meeting in August, We sometimes arrange a field trip or garden visit. The date, time, and location varies and is usually communicated to members via email.
The October regular meeting is replaced with our annual Rare Bulb and Plant Auction. Complimentary beverages and snacks are provided. The time may vary. Please refer to the News and Events page for details closer to the date.
November is our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and it also marks our last meeting of the year. Please refer to the News and Events page for details closer to the date.
We do not meet between December and February.
NALS 2025
In 2025, the Victoria Lily Society is the regional host of the North American Lily Society (NALS) 75th International Show and Symposium. The event is taking place July 9 – 13 at the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney BC.
The lily show, sales, and guest speaker presentations are open to the public on the following days and times.
LILY SHOW – Friday 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Saturday 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, Sunday 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Admission is by donation
LILY AND PLANT SALE – Saturday 9:30 am to 3:00 pm.
GUEST SPEAKER PRESENTATIONS – Saturday starting at 1:30 pm with Dr. Colin Tamboline on “Lilies – Summer Splendor”. At 2:45 pm Ms. Barrie Agar will speak about “Stalwarts In The Perennial Garden – A Personal And Subjective Look At Top Performers In Perennial And Mixed Gardens”. Cost for both sessions is $5.00, and tickets are available at the show desk.
CUT LILY STEM SALE – Some cut lily stems from the show will be sold on Sunday at 3:15 pm (show closes at 3:00 pm).

OTHER INFORMATION
The NALS 2025 event replaces our annual Victoria Lily Society “Summer Scentsations” Lily and Flower Show, Plant Sale and Tea which resumes in 2026.
We also maintain a Lily Garden at the Horticultural Centre of The Pacific (HCP). It is managed by a roster of VLS volunteers.
Our year also includes scheduled field trips and visits to private and public gardens.
We maintain an inventory of potted lilies for our Plant Sale at the annual Summer Scentsations Show, Sale and Tea.
We conduct an annual Rare Bulb and Plant Auction in the fall. Hard to find and special items are donated from member’s gardens and from some of our suppliers.
Members are offered wholesale prices on lily bulbs when we do our annual bulb order.
A News Bulletin is emailed or otherwise sent out to all members nine times a year.
